Blender Exercises Set 7

Knife KA-BAR-1213

My first attempt to create a 3D model only from photos of a knife in Amazon. Then after retopology and baking the model is exported to GLTF format for rendering in the web page.

Blender Exercises Set 6

Wizard's Lab

Modeling of the Wizard's Lab scene which is full of realistic details.

Blender Exercises Set 5

Sword in Stone

Practiced the complete scene modeling and animation of the “Sword in Stone” tutorial. The following skills were involved: Modeling of hard surface objects Texturing with PBR materials Environment texturing HDRI environment texturing Simulate fog effect by using a volume scattering shader Particle effects Simulate dust effect with the particle system Animation Keyframe animation Composition Adjust the color balance and gamma value of the final image through Blender’s composition stage Sword Image #1 The sword handle, the guard and part of the blade.

Blender Exercise Set 4

Car, Fan, Chain Spear

Continue learning: modeling low-poly objects, symmetric objects and using of more complex modifiers. Car Blender Project: A simple low-poly car. Mirror modifiers were used to simplify modeling process. Pure color material were used for rendering. Handheld Fan Modeled with basic shapes. Center symmetric objects like the front and back cover, fan blades were modeled using empty objects and array modifiers. Pure color materials were used for rendering. The light band on the handle was modeled using an emission shader.

Blender Exercise Set 3

The Little Devil, Small TV, Makeup Box

Learned the modeling based on 2D curves and usage of modifiers (mirror, boolean). The Little Devil Modeled with basic shapes. Hair and tongue was created based on Bezier curves. The shape of the lips were borrowed from the mouth in the head. Eyes were modeled with a mirror modifier. The Little Devil Blender Project: Small TV The TV (which was Bilibili’s logo before) is also modeled with basic shapes through loop cutting, extruding and beveling.

Blender Exercise Set 2

Keypad, Abacus

Learned to build some more complex models, unwrap UVs and then map textures. Keypad The keypad is modeled with basic shapes. After marking seams, the surface of the keys are unwrapped so that all the keys can use the same texture image for mapping. The green indicator is rendered using an emission shader. Keypad Blender Project: Abacus The abacus is also modeled with basic shapes by loop cutting, extruding and beveling, and using the subdivision and array modifier.

Blender Exercise Set 1

Chair, Coffee & Book

As part of the Blender leaning process, I logged the results of my 3D modeling exercises here. The following are the first two basic modeling exercises. The Chair Modeling with basic shapes. Make use of subdivision, mirror and array modifiers. The Chair Blender Project: Coffee & Books Modeling with basic shapes using ring cuts, extrusion, and beveling. Rendered with pure color texture and multiple lights. Coffee & Books Blender Project:
